If walls and ceilings in our San Antonio Living Concept Homes could talk, they’d reveal a lot of cool gadgets that can be incorporated into your home.
Tim Smoot, President of Smoot Electric, is carrying on a family tradition.
“I learned the trade working with my dad and I moved on from there,” Tim explains.
A company leader since 1989 and an electrician since the age of 15, Tim attributes the incredible growth of his company over the last 16 years to high standards built on quality and impeccable service.
“Being on time and the quality,” he says.
Smoot Electric provides wiring for the new construction of homes and businesses, in addition to remodeling work. They also have 24-hour service for anyone with a problem.
“If there happens to be a fire safety hazard overnight or on a Sunday, say if somebody plugs something in and it shorts out and starts to smolder a bit, they can call us out,” says Tim. “We try to respond within 45 minutes of the phone call.”
Smoot Electric also specializes in exciting advancements for your home, including security systems that - through a television - show you what’s happening in other rooms and even outside.
“If a homeowner is in the kitchen and they want to keep an eye on their children and the TV set across the room, they don’t have to worry about going outside and looking out the window,” says Tim. “They can do picture in a picture and turn on the security camera and watch the children and watch the TV.”
In addition, Smoot is known for setting up incredible surround-sound systems that makes your home feel more like a movie theatre.
Tim says no project is too small or big, “We wire anything as small as a doghouse - which we have done on several occasions - to anything as large as multi-story hotels.”
Tim says he uses quality, industry-shaping products from companies like Eaton Cutler Hammer.
“Eaton Cutler Hammer is one of the leading manufacturers for the arc pump circuit breaker and the main reason it came out was to prevent fires, and now it’s part of the national electrical code,” says Tim. “Every home has one.”
Tim’s company will continue to be a leader with quality work and timely service that’s both safe and on the technological edge.
